Better apps without the corporate cost.
I'm Dustin. I have 10 years of experience as a fullstack engineer and I want to build better apps and a better internet. In the early days people would build cool things and give it away, then companies started optimizing for monetary extraction to support massive dev teams that build features at a snail's pace. I benefited from the free software people on the early internet and I want to return the favor.
My goal is to build high quality apps and support myself and I won't be able to do that by giving away everything for free, but I will make sure my apps always are valuable to people even if they don't pay, premium features will be gated behind a paywall, but they shouldn't be necessary to get value out of what I build.
I don't have investors or a team behind me, I pay for all of the costs out of my own pocket so finding the right balance is always a challenge.
Apps
Cal Counter
In App Store reviewMy first app is Cal Counter — a dieting app built to make weight loss or muscle gain journeys frictionless. I built Cal Counter because during my own fitness journeys, I would get fed up with how inefficient other apps were or how the most basic features were behind a paywall. Cal Counter is going to be fully functional with the free version, but provide state of the art food analysis for paid users.

Not startedI'd rather ship one small thing that works than five that almost do. When there's a second app, it'll show up here — with its own policies, on the same terms as the first.
